RAPHAEL MANN – ‘PINK & GREEN EMPEROR‘ video still (2022)

‘Pink & Green Emperor‘ is a song about coming to terms with death, and specifically in the context of parenthood. It uses the image of child finding a dead moth to suggest how fleeting our lives are, and stresses the importance of showing our love for each other while we can.

For the video myself and my daughter Mika (who inspired the song) dress up as moth-inspired creatures. We didn’t want to try to look like realistic insects, but we tried to suggest an essence of moth-ness somehow… The song is pretty serious, but we had a lot of fun making the video…
